Laboratory Certification

The Office of Public Health (OPH) Accreditation Program is responsible for performing laboratory certification to those laboratories analyzing drinking water under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The OPH Certification program is qualified to issue drinking water certification to laboratories performing microbiology and chemistry tests for drinking water in the State of Louisiana in accordance with the EPA Safe Drinking Water Act. The OPH Accreditation Program can also certifiy chemistry test for drinking water in accordance with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) which is also accepted by the EPA in lieu of drinking water certification.

Laboratories who wish to apply for lab certification to perform chemistry tests on drinking water may download the 2011 application.
