This Web site provides information on accessing disaster assistance for individuals, small businesses, and communities, including assistance information related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. It also provides news, information, and resources to prepare for disasters and to help keep families safe during an emergency and recover afterwards.
Greater New Orleans Foundation
The Greater New Orleans Foundation strives to address the needs of the community through collaborations with other organizations. Mary Queen of Vietnam Community Development Corporation, Inc. (MCVN)
This New Orleans based nonprofit has provided emergency relief assistance to over 3,000 Vietnamese American residents and advised over 1,000 communities on their specific concerns. National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN)
The NCTSN raises the standard of care and increases access to services for traumatized children and their families across the United States. Included in the NCTSN are community-based service centers in the Gulf Coast region.
National Wildlife Federation (NWF)
The NWF developed a guide for how to talk to children about the Gulf Coast oil spill. Information is provided for techniques to use when speaking to children ages preschool/early elementary, upper elementary, and middle school and beyond.

Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)
SBIRT is a comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services for persons with substance use disorders, as well as those who are at risk of developing these disorders. The mission of the St. Bernard Project is to create housing opportunities so that Hurricane Katrina survivors can return to their homes and communities. The St. Bernard Project, a nonprofit, community-based organization carries out its mission through three primary programs: Rebuilding Program, Center for Wellness and Mental Health and Opportunity Housing Program.
