The Office of Public Health administers several programs that provide services for families, young children and women's health needs.

I'm pregnant/I'm the mother of a young child, and I need assistance getting primary and preventive care services.
  • Maternal and Child Health Program, which administers the Federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant, funding a number of programs and services for women of childbearing age, pregnant women and women with infants and/or young children. Learn more.

 

I need to make sure my children have gotten the shots they need.

  • Immunization Program, which offers vaccinations to Louisiana children who meet certain requirements, and administers the LINKS network to track children's vaccine records. Learn more.

I need information about birth control and how I can avoid an accidental pregnancy.

  • Family Planning Program, which offers information, counseling and education about family planning, provides contraceptives, conducts preventive health screenings and teaches women how to plan pregnancies. Learn more.
I need information about nutrition counseling and access to health services to low-income women, infants and children.
  • Nutrition Program, which offers services nutrition counseling, and referrals to other health and social services, including WIC and commodity supplemental food. Learn more.
